Penne Giganti, bigger than classic Penne pasta, is a large-sized tubular-shaped pasta. Developed in 1865, this pasta cut is characterized by an oblique edge, recalling the shape of the “pennino”, the ancient pen dipped in ink and used to write until after World War II when ballpoint pens were first imported from United States.
Penne Giganti pasta is ideal for preparing a delightful oven-baked variation of traditional “penne alla Norma”. Perfect to be filled with diced eggplant and grated ricotta cheese and then covered with a pulpy tomato-based sauce. Lovely at each bite!
